New disclosure requirements in retail shop leases
From 1 January 2011, the disclosure that landlords must provide to prospective tenants of retail shop leases will be expanded.
As part of the harmonisation of retail shop disclosure statements in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, new disclosure requirements have been produced which aim to better inform tenants of their rights and obligations under a lease and assist landlords who own multiple shopping centres in multiple jurisdictions.
